Vancouver Flood Restoration
If you want to find out what to do during a flood click here.
Floods in Vancouver arise from a variety of circumstances. Heavy rains, hot water tank leaks, kitchen appliance leaks, frozen pipes, clogged sewer or water mains, or sinks and tub overflows are some of the most common causes of a flood in Vancouver. All of these situations require water extraction and flood restoration.
Water that floods your living area might have contaminants and should always be treated if it is hazardous. Water that comes from flood damage should always be examined by professionals to ensure proper flood restoration.
The key to minimizing flood damage is responding immediately and starting the flood restoration immediately
Flood water can contain bacteria, pathogens, and other hazardous materials, which multiply quickly, often within 24 hours. Mould also thrives in the moist conditions. Beginning the water drying process immediately reduces the chances for mould and bacterial growth and increases our ability to save contents and structure that may otherwise be lost to the flood damage.
Our goal is to restore your property from water damage with minimal demolition and loss. After extracting any stale or contaminated water, our project managers and technicians implement a water drying plan leveraging their knowledge of drying techniques and experience. In addition to their technical skill, our staff uses the latest technologies in the flood restoration industry.
An Overview of the Flood Restoration Process
Flood Emergency Response – Within 1 hour of being called, Easy Care Restoration technicians and project managers arrive onsite to assess the water damage. Priorities at this stage are:
- To ensure the source of the flood has been contained
- To extract any standing water from the property and reduce water damage
-
To evaluate the contamination levels of the floodwater to determine if there is any human health risk

Drying - Dehumidifiers and blowers are placed throughout the affected areas. Technicians visit every 1-2 days to check progress and monitor moisture levels. In most cases, the flood restoration drying process takes 4-7 days.
Restoration – Once your property is dry, we prepare a detailed scope of repairs for the flood damage and quote for you and your insurance company. When we receive approval, our construction team can complete the repairs and return your property to normal prior to the flood damage.
Final Approval – Our work is not finished until you are completely satisfied. When the restoration is complete, your project manager will walk through with you to ensure you are completely satisfied with the work.
