Asbestos is a group of materials added to building materials to provide strength or insulation properties. Unfortunately asbestos is a dangerous carcinogens and lead to numerous health issues including mesothelioma and lung cancer which was widely used in Vancouver and the lower mainland. Asbestos use has been dramatically reduced since the 1980’s however, asbestos is still present in many Vancouver residential and commercial buildings.  Asbestos is especially dangerous when it becomes airborne as a result of disrupting asbestos-containing materials (flooring, plaster, etc..).

Asbestos removal is dangerous and must be handled with extreme caution

If you believe there may be asbestos present in your building and you need to remove it, call us prior to beginning any demolition work or drywall removal. When to test for asbestos

Generally any building built before 1990 in Vancouver must go under asbestos testing before drywall removal or demolition happens. At Easy Care Restoration we have Project Managers who are fully certified to do asbestos testing and asbestos removal. Easy Care Restoration works with a number of different asbestos testing facilities in Vancouver to ensure Worksafe BC procedures are being adhered to and that asbestos removal is done safely.
